Dust Control

Dust control measures apply to any construction site where there is the potential for air and water pollution from dust traveling across the landscape or through the air. Dust control treatment is an economical road treatment that can reduce road maintenance and aid in gravel road maintenance.

Practices used to reduce or prevent dust are diverse, with water being the most commonly used alternative due to its low cost of implementation and results. However, water applications can be significant and can cause additional problems including erosion problems. Other methods, including calcium chloride and magnesium chloride, can get washed away by weather.
